Isn't this a great picture? I was on a short holiday with three other ladies when we spotted this window display, The Abominable Snowman. It drew us inside (I call this impulse marketing) to take a look around. The owner came from the back room through swinging doors and greeted us with a big, cheery hello. We asked about the display. She said the beast is all edible.
(I guess that makes him the Edible Snowman (heehee).)
Everything in her bakery is edible, she said.
Even you, I joked. It took her a second to catch my meaning.
Even me, but that's just gross.
(<----Chocolate cupcake with a shot of peanut butter!)
She had a greet array of cookies, cupcakes and cakes. We all bought something scrumptious to gain three pounds eating.
Our bakery friend told us she'd always wanted to craft an Abominable Snowman cake so she did. She worked on the design and molding and colors and made her dream a reality. She has her cake and she can eat it too (I had to put that in there!).
We are writers. We want to put on paper our dream story or poem. We work on the theme and concept, we mold the words and characters and story and color our dream with tension and humor and love.
We make our dreams into reality.
We can do it! Little by little. The Edible Snowman wasn't created in a few hours. Masterpieces don't come forth in a few days. Time, sweat and sometimes tears build the essence of our masterpieces.
We can do this!
Keep your chin up, your behind in the chair, fingers on the keys and make your dream a reality.
As a reward for achieving your goal, go have a piece of cake.
What is your dream? Goal?

This is so very true! It is hard work and takes dedication, but it's well worth it. I'm working on book number three, needing to edit books one and two, but I'll get them out eventually. I am determined.
Word by word can be such a long process, but I don't know any other way!
Thanks for the inspirational post!!
That snowman is awesome! I wanna take a bite. And I love the comparison to writing.
Wow! I can't imagine the hours spent making that cake.
But I do know when you chase your dreams, nothing is impossible.
Great post!
Kathi
My dream is to live on the beach. My goals have very little connection to that dream though. I might want to revise. But thanks for making me think!
I laughed when I read that you asked her if she was edible too. LOL! I would have loved to see the look on her face.
The writing journey is filled with ups and downs. Nothing happens over night. Dreams take time, but that's okay! Wonderful post :)
Go, Miranda! Get those books done.
Thanks for stopping over, Heather.
Hi, Peggy!
I don't have enough patience to make even a pretty cupcake, Kathi.
Jessie, if you can't live on the beach you can at least visit :) Or buy a beach picture lol
You're right, Rachel. Nothing happens overnight.
THANKS ladies!
