Your dreams are inevitable

“So many of our dreams at first seem impossible, then they seem improbable, and then, when we summon the will, they soon become inevitable. ” Christopher Reeve (1952-2004)

Excellent quote, don't you think?
We have to keep working for our dream to become inevitable.
When I sit down to edit/revise, my dream seems impossible.
But the closer I get to The End, the more I realize it is inevitable that I will finish.
I have to keep going,  keep writing.
Then I can say I wrote a book.

What about you and your dreams? How are they coming along?

The Abominable Snowman Way

Isn't this a great picture? I was on a short holiday with three other ladies when we spotted this window display, The Abominable Snowman. It drew us inside (I call this impulse marketing) to take a look around. The owner came from the back room through swinging doors and greeted us with a big, cheery hello. We asked about the display. She said the beast is all edible.
(I guess that makes him the Edible Snowman (heehee).)
Everything in her bakery is edible, she said.
Even you, I joked. It took her a second to catch my meaning.
Even me, but that's just gross.
(<----Chocolate cupcake with a shot of peanut butter!)
She had a greet array of cookies, cupcakes and cakes. We all bought something scrumptious to gain three pounds eating.

Our bakery friend told us she'd always wanted to craft an Abominable Snowman cake so she did. She worked on the design and molding and colors and made her dream a reality. She has her cake and she can eat it too (I had to put that in there!).

We are writers. We want to put on paper our dream story or poem. We work on the theme and concept, we mold the words and characters and story and color our dream with tension and humor and love.
We make our dreams into reality.
We can do it! Little by little. The Edible Snowman wasn't created in a few hours. Masterpieces don't come forth in a few days. Time, sweat and sometimes tears build the essence of our masterpieces.
We can do this!
Keep your chin up, your behind in the chair, fingers on the keys and make your dream a reality.
As a reward for achieving your goal, go have a piece of cake.

What is your dream? Goal?

Authors In My Dreams

I was walking up to a cute little house when I met Shannon Hale, James Dashner and his wife walking up to the same house. James stopped and asked what I was doing. I told him I came to visit Heather Moore. He said he'd go with me. Mrs. Dashner and Mrs. Hale went on to the Dashner a basement apartment which was below Heather's house.
Heather was rather embarrassed that we were there to visit her because she thought her house was messy (it wasn't). But there was a black snake in her house which James and I tried to catch and take outside.

I woke up and wondered why in the world I would dream about those three authors! I feel back to sleep and dreamed on:

I was staying at Sarah Eden's house. Actually, quite a few of us were staying with her. There was a conference/carnival/party at her house so we were there for the weekend. I really wanted to change into something cooler because it was hot so I was looking for my extra clothes which I had left on Sarah's coffee table (aren't I a good guest?). Sarah had moved my stuff to set up a display of all her books for the conference/carnival/party. She couldn't remember where she stored my things. Jeff Savage came into the house and said he would help look. I glanced out the window and saw Jessica Day George putting on a green sombrero and then chasing people around the yard, trying to make them wear it.

I woke and again wondered why I had dreamed about three more authors.

What do you think??
