I wanted to know:
- How many books you read this year?
- What's your favorite genre?
- Is there ONE book you would recommend every read?
- Did you set a reading goal this year?
- And are we friends on Goodreads? What? Why not?
- Here's my link so we can be buddies: Taffy Lovell
My goal was to read 75 books this year. I made it by 133%. Yup. I'm an overachiever reader.
I find I thoroughly enjoy Young Adult books. I think it matches my maturity level :0
I LOVED The Girl of Fire and Thorns. And Forgotten. Oops. That's two. Sorry.
My reading goal this year is to read one non-YA book a month.
Confessional Story:
I did chuck a book once.
I had no idea Hunger Games was a trilogy. I read the last page and stopped cold. The words read something like: End of Book One. I threw the book across the room. (It was a library book so please don't tell the librarians.) I couldn't believe the audacity of the author to end on such a literary precipices! And I had to wait for the next one?!

You at rock star! Wow! I read more than 36 books last year, but I'm not counting the books not yet published that I read for other authors.
With my writing and editing goals, I'd like to read 25 books this year. It's a small goal, but I don't like to push myself.
How many books you read this year? I read 155 in 2011
What's your favorite genre? I mostly read YA for the year but that was not it.
Is there ONE book you would recommend every read? Divergent!
Did you set a reading goal this year? I did 150 but I also started last year at 100 and had to bump it up so we shall see
And are we friends on Goodreads? What? Why not? We are now. Added you this morning.
I read your book, and that was so awesome it was like reading 50 books!!
My reading and writing feelings are along the same lines as Ally Condie: When I'm drafting a novel, I try not to read books in my genre. Instead I read classics, adult, YA outside my genre, or catch up on some Newbery books.
During the editing process--I read whatever I want.
I signed up for the debut author challenge in 2012, so I'm counting on you to keep me up to date on new author's I should read. You're good at knowing that stuff! Got one for January?
Go Miranda! Reading is good for the writer :)
Lisa! That is a ton of books! I'm on the waiting list for Divergent. I've only heard good about that book.
Thanks, Julie. You're Awesome! Good luck on the debut author challenge.
Thanks for adding me on Goodreads ladies!
Oh I didn't keep track of the number of books I read last year. So far this year I've read 4 books.
As for a book I'd recommend, I loved so many of the books I read last year.
If I had to pick one, I'd say Matched by Ally Condie.
Oh and the title of this post is epic :D
Thanks for popping over, Jessica! You're ahead of me already this year in reading books!
I don't know how many books I read this past year; I wish I would've kept track. But I read a lot, mostly MG. One I'd recommend everyone read is THE ROMEO AND JULIET CODE which happens to fall in my favorite genre--MG historical fiction.
So, I'm curious, did you finish the Hunger Games trilogy? I have yet to read them, even with all the raves.
Hi Barbra! I saw the Code book on your blog. Looks cute :)
I did finish the Hunger Games Trilogy. My favorite was the first book. Not as dark as the other two.
Wow!You deffintly surpassed me..I read 50 books last year (which was my goal). This year I'm upping my game to 80 books.
Thank you for following Quoth The Raven Nevermore..I love your blog, so I am now following you.
