I say music, you say quiet

Are you a music lover? What kind do you love?
Do you listen to music while you clean? Do certain songs feel like summer to you? (I Wear My Sunglasses at Night; Boys of Summer)(totally dating myself?).

Big question: What do you listen to while writing?
There's an app on my iPhone that sounds like I'm relaxing and writing on the beach: waves, seagulls, and a soft wind.
I also tune into classical music. I understand it helps make me smarter so it can't hurt, right? I love Mozart and Sate. Sometimes I forget to turn on the noise and quiet works for me too.

I first came across the idea of a playlist with Stephenie Meyers. The music fit with the mood and characters of the book. Many of her songs on the lists also made it into the movies.
Every few days I like to mix up my writing with a playlist I made for the story I'm working on.  I'm submitting a YA Sci/Fi this month so some of the songs are not ones I normally listen to but they fit.
My playlist is below. If you have any suggestions, I'd LOVE LOVE LOVE to hear them!

Does your story have its own playlist? Wanna share it? Give us a link to your blog or music list so we can take a listen.
Or do you have favorite songs remind you of summer?

Here's my playlist:

I wish I could write to music, but I can't write with any sound except for maybe a fan. It's awful. It makes it so writing in a public place is next to impossible for me (although revising with noise is a little easier). But I do make playlists, usually after the first draft is written. It serves as great inspiration. I'll listen to it in the shower, in my car--all the time and it can spark great ideas for revision.

Music is my other passion. Every one in my family is musical and I love it. I listen to music almost all the time. When writing, I usually just put my mp3 player on shuffle and listen to whatever comes up. Whenever I think of making a playlist for a particular project, it makes me too tired to try it, but there are certain songs that remind me of different characters.

I love music and I have playlists for all of my novels. But when I write, I have to have quiet. Music is never a background noise for me. When it's on, I'm listening.

You've got a good playlist for that story. I also love Civil Twilight.
