The Pool (a poem) by Taffy

The pool is cool

         The water blue

The mothers snooze

         Under a towel

The children play

         And splash and squeal

The fathers swim

         Lazily doing laps

The lifeguards watch

         Whistles at the ready

The food eaten

         And spilled

The chlorine swallowed

         And swallowed again

A good day at the pool
