A Few of My Favorite Things Right Now

I'm reading:

Fiction: A Curse So Dark and Lonely by Brigid Kemmmerer

Fall in love, break the curse.

Cursed by a powerful enchantress to repeat the autumn of his eighteenth year, Prince Rhen, the heir of Emberfall, thought he could be saved easily if a girl fell for him. But that was before he turned into a vicious beast hell-bent on destruction. Before he destroyed his castle, his family, and every last shred of hope.

Nothing has ever been easy for Harper. With her father long gone, her mother dying, and her brother constantly underestimating her because of her cerebral palsy, Harper learned to be tough enough to survive. When she tries to save a stranger on the streets of Washington, DC, she's pulled into a magical world.

Break the curse, save the kingdom.

Audible: The Corinthian by Georgette Heyer

The accomplished Corinthian Sir Richard Wyndham is wealthy, sophisticated, handsome, and supremely bored. Tired of his aristocratic family constantly pressuring him to get married, he determines to run away after meeting the delightful, unconventional heroine Penelope Creed. Penelope - literally - falls into his life late one night as she hangs from the window of her aunt's house - she too attempting to escape the pressures of forced marriage. The two allies become embroiled in a series hilarious madcap adventures as they cross-dress, run into escaped criminals, have a case of mistaken identity, and save people from their own dramatics. Little do they predict their feelings for each other blossoming into romance.

Nonfiction: The Gift of Fear: Survival Signals That Protect Us From Violence by Gavin de Becker

True fear is a gift.
Unwarranted fear is a curse.
Learn how to tell the difference.

A date won't take "no" for an answer. The new nanny gives a mother an uneasy feeling. A stranger in a deserted parking lot offers unsolicited help. The threat of violence surrounds us every day. But we can protect ourselves, by learning to trust—and act on—our gut instincts.

In this empowering book, Gavin de Becker, the man Oprah Winfrey calls the nation's leading expert on violent behavior, shows you how to spot even subtle signs of danger—before it's too late.

I'm watching:  The Marvel movies in chronically order (yeah, I'm an idiot)

I just finished Thor: Ragnarok. The next movie should be Wonder Woman 1984 (I can't wait!), but in case it gets moved back because of a certain virus, I'll be watching Ant-Man and the Wasp.

I'm writing/editing: Love in Greece

A romance set in Greece. I'm pantsing the last half so I can edit next month (if I can ever finish editing Old-Fashioned Wishes). With the next two weeks off (thanks to a certain virus), I hope to get this story written.

FOOD: Trader Joe's Roasted & Salted Sunflower Seeds

I've been loving this snack! I put them on everything from granola cereal to yogurt and just eating them straight out of the bag.

What about you?
What are you reading?
What are you watching?
What are you working on?
