Nufffing

I have nothing scheduled for today. I'll regal you with the past month of my little life:

  • I've been busy editing two WIPs, hoping to pitch one of them and use the other as backup @ Storymakers.
  • Will I see you in May in SLC?
  • I'm also working on a third book that kinda scares me. So far it's about a girl and her BFFs who all end up dead. I haven't gotten far enough to know if she kills them or she just has bad luck. I don't write horror.
  • Why has this story grown in my brain?
  • I was stuck in a church gym for hours a few weeks ago. Don't get me wrong, I had fun. I think I have ADD (lol) because I can't focus for hours. Maybe it's the writer inside who can't focus? I took a notebook and used Josi Killpack's list to get to know my characters better. I filled fifteen pages, long hand. Now I need to enter all the info in Scrivener.
  • Did I mention I love that program?
  • I like to listen to quiet music or the sounds of waves while I write. If I'm doing mindless writing, I like to watch NCIS with Mark Harmon. I cannot do anything while I'm glued to Castle. Those two shows are about the extent of TV for me.
  • What do you do while you write/edit?
Back to work for me.
THANKS for stopping by! I love your comments. They inspire me and help brighten my work!

PS
Have you seen this clip? FUNNEEYY

I like update posts. I enjoy writing stories out of my comfort zone as well. It's challenging. Good luck.

I'm going to Storymakers in May. I'm so excited! It's my very first conference! :D Hope to see you there!! Your "horror" novel sounds intriguing. Can't wait to see what you do with it!

That video made me laugh until I cried! What a fun hobby that would be- the timing was perfect.
I am not going to Storymakers :(
I might do a panel at Conduit, but it is still a little ify.
I laughed when y u said y our book scares you- just sleep with a light on and don't trust any of your friends until you know for sure :) You were stuck?? In the gym??
i love scrivener, finally somebody is feeling what I am feeling. I have to have complete silence to write and edit. I am getting better at tuning out the kids, but I have never been a girl who could listen to radio and do homework at the same time. Go figure. Thanks, that was fun!

Oh my, working on your characters in church! ;) well, it was only a church gym. Who am I to talk? I often daydream about my writing at church too! I found your blog (I think) from Brenda Drake's Show Me the Voice Contest but not sure if I found the right Taffy! Anyway I'm still happy to find your blog... for that wonderful quote and the 10 commandments for a writer you posted - Thank you!

I wish I were going to Storymakers, but can't make it this year.

When I'm writing I'm listening to my baby whining because I'm not holding him. (He thinks mom sitting means I have to hold him every time.) If I have the choice, I need silence to write.

I enjoyed this post very much!

Chantele and T.J., see you in May! It is a great conference!
Anti-groupies indeed! You make me laugh!
Thanks for the support, J.L. and Lillian. I'll let everyone know what happens with my scary book.
Thanks for stopping by Margo. *left to check out other blogs. Followed other blogs. Came back*
Rebecca, I'm not sure children get any easier. How many of you can say your children don't bother you until you are on the phone or shut the bathroom door. yup. Everyone raised their hand :) Cuddle that baby! I admit, I love a quiet house. But that just happened last year. When did my kids grow up?

Oh I love NCIS - on of my favorite shows. And as far as not being able to focus for hours, and ADD, yeah, I get you. lol

Good job on the editing - you can finish it :)
