YOU recommended it!) I was hanging out as moral support, helping collect socks (It was wintertime. Tristi had forgotten socks. Her toes were frostbitten. YOU had to take control and rescue her by finding her socks. Yay you!) and whatnot (She forgot food, too.). Then I started handing out chocolates for my books that weren't there.(Of course. All your books sold...before everyone else's! YOU are the star!)
I felt really stupid. (You kept asking yourself, "Why didn''t I bring more of my books??) There was a table set up for me but it was empty.(All but your chocolates. Everyone likes your books better than EVEN chocolate!!! YOU ARE REMARKABLE!!!) Sad. (Really. What is this world coming to when people prefer books over chocolate!!!)
Heather Moore and Nicole Giles showed up with their books and sat next to Tristi. (They were intimidated by your greatness. They felt too shy to say hello to YOU!)
James Dashner was sitting on a bench nearby talking with Rob Wells. (They were engrossed in deep discussion about how they could ever come up to your level and achieve an empty table like you!) They waved at me as I went to hide in the bathroom. (They hoped you would recognize them and wave back, but you had to run away from all your adoring fans. They'd even ripped at your clothes. All you could do was hope to be able to change in time for the awards banquet where Stepanie Meyer and J K Rowling were coming to honor you!kbrebeshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09146709601038107862noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2294986155177272443.post-89087058407371591162011-01-14T11:09:51.474-08:002011-01-14T11:09:51.474-08:00This comment has been removed by the author.kbrebeshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09146709601038107862noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2294986155177272443.post-17471136536732735092011-01-14T11:07:55.642-08:002011-01-14T11:07:55.642-08:00This comment has been removed by the author.kbrebeshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09146709601038107862noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2294986155177272443.post-13185526053779446122011-01-13T13:48:40.181-08:002011-01-13T13:48:40.181-08:00As long as you come out with motivation to do what...As long as you come out with motivation to do what you want, I say interpret that dream however you'd like. :)Rachelle Christensenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05522589944408062365noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2294986155177272443.post-16534659583938704302011-01-13T11:47:02.149-08:002011-01-13T11:47:02.149-08:00I agree with the other ideas. (I've analyzed family member's and my dreams for years, so I couldn't help it!)

You were with people who are all quite successful authors. You are happy for their success and support and share with their joys, but you also wish that you were celebrating your successes along with them. Once Heather and Nichole showed up you ran away because you felt intimidated by the amount of sheer author power in the room.

I find it interesting that two high-profile authors waved at you as you ran to the bathroom, ones that I'd bet you look up to highly in terms of success. You didn't feel "good enough" to rub elbows with highly successful authors. As long as their was only one author, you were able to handle it, but when more authors showed up you felt uncomfortable being around them and had to leave.

I wonder if a lot of this is that you feel like you have the potential and should be among their ranks, but are embarrassed because you haven't gotten there yet. Maybe deep down you know you can, but haven't put enough effort into it yet? Possibly?

I know life can shove writing to the back burner. I wonder how many of us would be successful in the way your dream authors are if we put our nose--forgive the cliche--to the grindstone.

Congratulations on your win!Rebecca Blevinshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09378726097105313400noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2294986155177272443.post-31831514236226437932011-01-13T10:54:33.100-08:002011-01-13T10:54:33.100-08:00Hey, I like the idea of a book launch at Thanksgiv...Hey, I like the idea of a book launch at Thanksgiving Point. You are seeing all of you...you need to get to work. You are seeing all of your friends success and realizing that you're not quiet there yet. And an empty table represents something unfinished in your life. Or so the dream bible says.Gailhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12118919082584904915noreply@blogger.com
